Spirit Teacher

They walked into her life like a storm she didn’t choose

Spoke words that cut so deep she had nothing left to lose

They took someone she treasured, pulled them from her hands

She sobbed in all that anguish, I took a different stand

I said they must be wrong, they must be cruel, unfair

Pointed at their shadow, never saw my own was there

But anger was the signal, resentment was the sign

Every blaming finger said the wound was mine

If I dropped the story, if I let it go

There’d be peace inside me I had yet to know

So I asked for truth beyond what I could see

And heaven whispered softly they bring gifts to her and me

They carried all the chaos, wore the villain’s name

While I stood in judgment, certain they should change

But underneath the surface, something else was true

They were showing where our healing still had work to do

Every surge of fury, every bitter plea

Was a hidden place inside that needed to be free

Yeah anger was the signal, resentment was the sign

Every blaming story said the wound was mine

If I dropped the story, if I let it go

There’d be space for kindness I could finally know

So I asked for truth beyond what I could see

And heaven whispered softly they bring gifts to her and me

They showed us some old places we had given peace away

We tied our peace to someone who could never make it stay

They taught her how to stand with respect for her own heart

How to love without depending, how to live apart

And maybe they were hurting, maybe lost in their own pain

Trading their own quiet just to walk into our flame

But in that sacred breaking, something new began

We found our way to God again

Now anger was the doorway, resentment was the key

Every shattered moment brought me back to me

When I dropped the story, when I let it go

There was love inside me I could finally know

I see it all so clearly, what I couldn’t see

They gave up their own peace to be a gift to me

So thank you, spirit teacher, for the path you chose

For every unseen blessing hidden in those blows

You led us back to truth, to love we can’t deny

You didn’t break our spirit

You showed us where it lies
