I’m Ready To Shine

I sat myself down, started talking to my skin,

Asked, "Why do I hold this weight, and where did it begin?"

A whisper rose inside me, soft and true,

"I’m a blanket wrapped around the real you."

Said, "Why the layers, why the pain?"

Fat replied, "I’ve shielded you from shame.

When they said you weren’t enough, I came to stand between,

So you wouldn’t crush beneath what they made you believe."

Thank you for your service, you kept me safe and sound,

While I was lost in stories that tried to tear me down.

But I don’t need to hide now, I’m standing in the light,

Ready to melt, to move, to shine so bright.

I said, "You’re right, they told me lies.

They sold me fear in a smaller size.

But you were love, just misunderstood,

A guardian in the ways you could."

Now I breathe a little deeper, stretch into my grace,

Feel the sunlight touch this sacred space.

No longer wrapped in fear or doubt,

I’m letting the real me come pouring out.

Thank you for your service, I see you clear today,

You can rest your heavy heart, it’s okay to fade away.

I’m ready to be radiant, no longer confined,

You're melting like coconut oil in the warmth of the divine.

You kept me safe from sorrow, you held the line,

But the world can see me now, this body’s mine.

Every cell’s a spark of the holy design,

I am worthy, I am love, I’m ready to shine.
